FAQ
Why is Blandon stepping down?
After 10 years, Blandon is stepping away to explore new challenges and take on riskier ventures. This has always been part of his long-term vision: to build a leadership team that could continue the mission confidently.
Will this impact my service?
No. There are no changes to the quality or continuity of service. The team remains the same, and all advisers are fully equipped to support your goals.
Who will I be working with going forward?
If you previously worked with Blandon, you will now be supported by Ray Wang or Frankie Su—both experienced advisers mentored by Blandon himself. You may also be introduced to senior leaders like Simon McDonald (Head of Advisory) or Zhiyang Cheng.
What qualifies the new leadership team?
Simon McDonald is a seasoned adviser and investor who has been instrumental in building our internal advisory frameworks. Zhiyang Cheng has led by example and surpassed many internal benchmarks in both advice and investment leadership.
Is Blandon still involved in any way?
Yes. Blandon is supporting the team through a 30-day handover and will continue to coach the leadership team informally. He remains available for select conversations until the end of April.
Is mortgagehq changing direction?
No. Our mission, values, and focus on helping Kiwis achieve financial freedom remain unchanged. If anything, this transition helps us sharpen our focus and scale our support more consistently.
